Vendor Returns

System Location: Data Entry > Purchasing > Vendor Returns

Vendor returns are used to track the various details associated with items that are returned to a vendor for some reason. Vendor returns contain the following information:

  • Date and reason for the return
  • Date the items were shipped back to the vendor
  • The result of the initial QC inspection
  • Information related to associated accounting documents

If the Quality Application has been purchased, vendor returns can be used to create non-conformance and corrective action records as well.

Once the Vendor Return is Created

After you create a vendor return, you can go back and make edits as you move forward within the return process. For example, you can document the inspection process one day, and then you can reopen the record to document when you ship the items back to the vendor. Additionally, you may return to the record in order to create a debit memo if you are returning the products and receiving your money back.
