Document Control General Section

The General section provides information that tracks the document and displays its current status. An asterisk (*) indicates a required field.

*Document Number

This field automatically populates from the Next Numbers under Company Maintenance.

  • This field can be manually edited.
  • The Document Number appears on the left side of a footer when generating a PDF.

Description

This field automatically populates when a Document Type is selected.

  • More information can be manually entered into the Description field.
  • This description can be used as a search for a document when you want to review / edit at a later date.

*Document Date

This date automatically populates with the current date.

  • The date field can be manually edited.

Document Type

This field represents the type of the document, such as a certification document, part image, etc.

  • Document Types are established under Base Tables.

Document Status

This field represents the status of the document as it moves through different phases in the control process.

  • The Document Status will change as the other tabs are completed.

Revision

This field is an alphanumeric field that tracks the revisions on this document only.

  • The Revision level appears on the left side of the footer when generating a PDF.

Revision Date

This date represents the date of the latest revision.

  • The Revision Date appears on the left side of the footer when generating a PDF.
